Unizin Partners with Top Hat for OER Content and Services
A new partnership between Top Hat and Unizin will bring an array of open educational resources and OER services to the consortium's 25 member institutions. The deal provides Unizin members with Top Hat's OER Marketplace, single sign-on integration and LMS integration at a special rate.
Top Hat's suite of tools will allow users to create and collaborate with digital, interactive course content that is cost-effective and customizable, according to the company. In addition, Top Hat's in-class app generates real-time data to help educators gauge student engagement.
"We're excited to partner with the Unizin consortium, which shares our mission of reducing costs for students while improving the overall learning experience," commented Mike Silagadze, co-founder and CEO of Top Hat, in a statement. "Through the partnership, more educators will have the opportunity to join our community to better engage students through high-quality interactive materials, and share and collaborate with their peers on creating digital course content."
