Fairfield U Monitoring Staff and Student Health with Mobile App

As students, faculty and staff return to campus at Fairfield University, they will report their daily health symptoms through the mobile campus safety tool LiveSafe Mobile App.

In addition to its incident reporting, communication and emergency services features, LiveSafe now provides a daily health monitoring questionnaire that can be filled out quickly and easily via smartphone. Through the app, Fairfield users can report experiencing (or not experiencing) any symptoms associated with COVID-19. When they submit the survey, they will receive real-time, time-and-date-stamped feedback indicating whether or not they are approved to attend class or work on campus. Users with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 will be asked to remain at home or in their residence halls, and advised to seek medical assistance.

"This new feature on the LiveSafe app allows students, employees and approved guests to be proactive in performing this required daily health verification survey," said Todd Pelazza, director of public safety for the university, in a statement. "It's a simple way to make sure our campus population can self-attest that they are feeling well and remaining symptom-free."

The app is part of Fairfield's broader health and safety plan, which includes contact tracing, isolation and quarantining of known cases, required face coverings and social distancing.
