Moodle to Launch U.S. Services Company

Open source learning management system provider Moodle is acquiring three United States-based partner companies and combining them to form Moodle US, a new services company for Moodle customers in North America. The merging of My Learning Consultants, Moonami Learning Solutions and Elearning Experts into the new company represents the first time U.S. clients will be able to access services directly from Moodle itself, according to a news announcement.

"Since 2005, our growing network of partners have been delivering a range of services from training to hosting, customization and implementation of the Moodle platform, under their own brands and infrastructure," explained Moodle Founder and CEO Martin Dougiamas, in a statement. "These acquisitions allow us to build a larger and more cohesive offering for our customers in the US. It will also improve how we can support larger clients through better coordination of our global capacity, experience and resources."

The acquisition and merger is expected to be complete by June 2021. Moodle said the full staff and leadership of the three merged companies will be retained under Moodle US, with new staff to be added in the coming year.
