Secure Videoconferencing Platform Available Free for Virtual Graduations
Cybersecurity company StrikeForce Technologies is making its SafeVchat secure videoconferencing platform available for free to both K-12 and higher education institutions that are holding virtual or live-streamed graduation ceremonies this spring. Launched earlier this year, SafeVchat is "designed with a cybersecurity kernel and engineered to keep communications secure and privacy intact," according to the company.
Security features of the platform include out-of-band authentication and keystroke protection technology, as well as proprietary meeting authorization and two-factor authentication (2FA) for every meeting participant.
"Too often big celebrations and critical life moments are being ruined by unwanted hacker attacks during videoconferencing sessions," said George Waller, co-founder of StrikeForce Technologies, in a statement. "A graduation is one of the most important events in a student's life, and we want students, their parents, and faculty across the country to be able to celebrate virtually this year without interruptions or unwanted intruders sharing vulgar content."
