Upright Education Partners with Northeastern State University to Train Tech Talent

Tech skilling provider Upright Education (UE) has announced a partnership with Oklahoma's Northeastern State University to provide training online and in-person to answer the growing demand for technologically skilled employees in Oklahoma.

UE and NSU will offer programs in high-demand skills for jobs in software engineering, data analytics, digital marketing, and UX/UI design, UE said in a release.

While programs are conducted online only, they also include live instruction sessions, as well as "unlimited access to career services to support job placement — including job search best practices and one-to-one career coaching sessions," the company said.

According to UE's website, its programs are funded by grants, and there is no cost to the college. Other features include no minimum enrollment, a "turnkey solution" to workforce needs, and training bootcamps.

UE also makes case studies available so prospective partners can see its program successes.

On its website, UE also outlined what it looks for in a partner:

  • A commitment to supporting adult career-switchers;
  • A passion for inclusivity and access;
  • A drive to address community needs;
  • An obsession with career outcomes; and
  • A willingness to think outside the box.

UE's release acknowledged this is a good time to enhance workforce development in Oklahoma, "particularly to meet the tech labor growth in cities like Tulsa and Oklahoma City, where the tech industry is experiencing robust growth."

"We are excited to launch our first partnership in Oklahoma, a region with a growing and evolving tech landscape," said Benny Boas, UE's CEO. "By joining forces with NSU, an institution dedicated to workforce development, we aim to empower adult learners to thrive in lucrative new careers and drive sustained growth for the economy."
