Call for Entries: 2009 Campus Technology Innovators

You’re doing great things with technology on campus—we want to know about them. We seek exemplary colleges and universities, their visionary technology project leadership, and their innovative vendor partners who have deployed extraordinary campus technology solutions to campus challenges. Could you be one of this year’s recognized technology leaders? CT’s 2009 Innovators will be featured in the August issue and recognized at the Campus Technology 2009 conference in Boston, MA, July 27-30, 2009.

Nominations are now closed.

Winners will be notified by April 1. We sincerely thank all entrants and wish we could respond to all individually, but the number of entries makes this impossible.

Rhea-When I try to submit my nomination form, I receive an error message indicating that I need a campus technology user name. Is that correct? If so, how do I sign up for one?

Mon, Mar 16, 2009 Jay CA

If there is not a project lead but a group of people should we just put all their names in the others involved box?

Jenise: You can include a URL for the demo, but please also give us a brief write-up walking us through the project details. Internal initiatives are fine - you don't have to use outside vendors in order to be eligible. -RK

Wed, Mar 11, 2009 Jenise Virginia Tech

Rhea, could you please clarify the following for our entry? In the "How it Works" section, can we include a URL for a demonstration. Also, our project has not included external vendors or for-pay vendors. It is more of an internal initiative with collaboration with academic units and departments. Is that okay? Thanks for all your help, Jenise

Jeff: We'd be happy to consider your entry. Bob: High-performance computing projects are certainly eligible. -RK

I have a novel use for a software package that can save many hours of work and physical supplies. I am a High School Teacher and do not understand why my idea should be excluded from consideration. I would be happy to share it and even happier to know that "those smart college guys" are incorporating my idea.

I have to give a big big big vote to SysOp Tools software, Password Reminder PRO and Password Reset PRO products - these very unique products helped us get a handle on our password expiring user accounts and has stopped a majority of help desk calls. They were also very helpful with tech support. http://www.sysoptools.com

>Yes, international entries are welcome.

To answer some of your questions:
1) Sorry, we are having some technical difficulties with the entry form. You can wait a day and resubmit, or please feel free to e-mail me your entry directly at rkelly@1105media.com.
2) Yes, you can self-nominate.
3) The winners will be presented with certificates (made out to the academic institution) in a ceremony at the Boston conference. Winners are not required to attend, but we'd love to see them there.
4) Because Campus Technology focuses on higher education, only college level nominations are eligible.
