RTI Debuts iPhone App for Accessing AV Controllers

RTI, a technology company that specializes in AV control systems, has announced a new iPhone app for use with its XP series of controllers.

The new app, RTiPanel, was designed to work with the XP 8, a control processor with eight RJ-45 outputs and eight RS-232 control ports, as well as the XP 3 and XP 6, two controllers currently in development.

By giving access to these controllers the app enables the command of any attached devices from anywhere the iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad can connect to the Internet.

System controls for RTI equipment has traditionally been operated with RTI's Integration Designer Programming Software, a Windows-based control application that allows users to create buttons with customized controls and icons. The new app comes a customizable interface similar that of the IDP software.

Multiple licensing options that include Internet and LAN licensing for the XP-8, XP-6, and XP 3 are expected to launch with the app.

RTI said it plans to release the RTiPanel on Apple's iStore in the fourth quarter of 2010. Further information is available here.
