Upper Iowa U To Offer Flexible Distance Learning Courses

From working and adult students to veterans and active duty military, a diversity of students at Upper Iowa University (UIU) will have the opportunity to take advantage of flexible, online courses, independent study, and degree programs.

In a partnership with higher education course provider StraighterLine, UIU students will be able to access and complete online, self-paced or professor-led accredited courses at their own pace.

Entry-level college courses in a variety of subject areas, including science, the humanities, English, math, business, college preparation, and foreign language will be available for students at low cost through StraighterLine's subscription pricing plans. Students can also take advantage of alternative options such as credit-by-examination (CBE) that allow students to earn college credit based on test scores, as well as through prior learning assessments, in which students earn credit for accumulated knowledge and life experience.

Upper Iowa University, located in northeast Iowa, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as leadership development programs, to approximately 900 students enrolled at its Fayette campus and approximately 6,200 students worldwide through its distance education programs that include 15 centers in the United States, an online program, an independent study program, and centers in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.
