Digitalis Debuts Portable Planetarium

Digitalis Education Solutions has launched what it's claiming is the smallest portable planetarium currently available, the Digitarium Iota.

"Extremely compact, lightweight, and powerful, the Digitarium Iota makes it easier than ever for one person to transport, set up, and teach with a high resolution portable digital planetarium system," according to a company news release.

Designed for domes as large as 20 feet in diameter, the Iota projects a circle 1,200 pixels across and can present any fulldome video in addition to starscapes.

The company also sells inflatable domes and fans to deploy them. A full kit, including the planetarium, dome and inflating fan, will fit in a subcompact car, according to information released by Digitalis.
