Warren Wilson College Deploys App for Emergency Response

Emergency response teams at Warren Wilson College can now access step-by-step crisis instructions via mobile app. The four-year liberal arts college near Asheville, NC, is using SchoolDude's CrisisManager mobile safety platform to make sure specific emergency response plans are up-to-date and easily accessible.

With CrisisManager, the college can update response procedures for lockdowns, criminal violence, severe weather, power outages and other scenarios in real time — including building diagrams, campus maps and emergency phone numbers. Safety plans are fully customizable, password-protected and accessible with or without a WiFi connection. The platform also features one-tap emergency contact calling and incident reporting.

"As Warren Wilson College is committed to supporting the welfare of our students, faculty, staff and visitors, CrisisManager helps us further prepare our emergency response team by putting safety plans on their mobile devices," said Ryan Haylock, chief technology officer for the college, in a press release. "Previous to using CrisisManager, protocols were not as easily accessible. Now, we can make plans available to people at their fingertips."

The college plans to roll out a future version of the app for students, faculty and staff.
