U Wales Institute, Cardiff Converting Course Content to E-Learning

As part of an effort to expand its distance learning offerings, the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff will be converting class materials to online curriculum with the use of CM Group's Luminosity e-learning authoring system. Luminosity Studio provides features for designing, writing, collaboration, publishing, and storing and reusing media.

"We required a production solution [that] was easy to use, highly flexible, collaborative, and enabled us to create and update our courses quickly and publish them to the highest production standards," said Colleen Connor, dean of learning and teaching. "We found that Luminosity was the perfect fit, enabling our staff to quickly and easily create interactive and engaging learning materials. And through CM Group's expert support, we can ensure we meet both our current and future needs."

According to the company, all courses developed through Luminosity are automatically SCORM-compliant and "disability-enabled." The Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) is a set of standards and specifications for Web-based e-learning. Courses created with Luminosity can used through the university's learning management system or any other SCORM-compliant LMS.
