Instructure Acquires Ed Tech Evaluation Company LearnPlatform

Instructure has acquired LearnPlatform, an ed tech company that provides real-time, evidence-based data on the effectiveness of digital ed programs chosen by universities and K–12 schools. The platform aims to provide insights that will help schools, universities, and educators evaluate whether their choices are leading to desired outcomes.

Instructure works with more than 600 partners in its ecosystem. LearnPlatform brings 10,000-plus EduApp provider listings from its own system. Its EdTech Effectiveness System includes an ed tech usage tool that provides Top 40 reports, a system for student data privacy management, the IMPACT rapid-cycle evaluation engine, ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) aligned tools such as ESSA Evidence Badges, and more.

Instructure said it will provide more details in future blog posts about ways in which the LearnPlatform acquisition will "impact specific user features, functions, and innovations" to enhance cost-effective implementation.

"K–12 and higher ed institutions need an efficient, research-based, insight-rich solution that drives the selection and ongoing management of the sprawling learning technology landscape," said Steven Daly, Instructure CEO. "We believe that adding these solutions gives our customers and partners even more ways to measure the impact of their investments and drive student outcomes for each and every student."

Instructure, based in Salt Lake City, said its company is dedicated to "elevating student success, amplifying the power of teaching, and inspiring everyone to learn together."

LearnPlatform, launched in 2014 in North Carolina, stated its goal is to "increase the capacity of educators and their organizations to research, select, and evaluate digital learning products that best meet the current needs of their students."

More information is available in blog posts from both LearnPlatform and Instructure.
