Tech Collaborative to Fund University Electronics, Cyber Sec

The Technology Collaborative, Pennsylvania economic development organization said last week it expects to award $1.6 million in technology commercialization funding to university groups, start-up companies, and established companies based in Pennsylvania by June 15, 2007.

"The strong response to our last Request for Proposal in Q4 2006, which included 22 proposals, 10 of which came from the eastern part of the state, reinforced our belief that this process is critical to our mission of creating companies and high-paying jobs in Pennsylvania," said David Ruppersberger, CEO of The Technology Collaborative. Ruppersberger said the RFP will help the group to emphasize advanced electronics and robotics tech.

"With this new RFP, we will continue to emphasize advanced electronics and robotics technologies with significant commercialization potential, including those that improve the quality of life for elderly and disabled Americans, he said.
