Kansas State Deploys Online Event System

The College of Technology and Aviation at Kansas State University's Salina campus has adopted Trumba Connect for its online event management.

Trumba Connect provides online calendar functions that are designed to increase event awareness and attendance and better connect the university with students, faculty, staff, and alumni through a suite of tools such as a hosted, interactive Web calendar; e-mail; and reporting services. It also provides RSS feeds, reminders via text messaging and email, and seamless integration into Taylor's website to maintain the university's brand look and feel.

According to Trumba, the College of Technology and Aviation will use the service to promote campus events and communicate with prospective students by sending out event information.

"We were looking for a calendaring solution that would enable us to create an interactive, feature-rich online event calendar for our Web site," said Michael Oetken, Webmaster and graphic designer at Kansas State University at Salina. "Trumba Connect’s advanced functionality gives us the ability to easily manage the calendar and, at the same time, helps us to stay better connected to our key constituents."

The college's calendar is online now. Trumba said it will also expand the system to include sub-calendars "to promote student life and intramural athletic events.  Once these calendars have been created, the event information from each one can be automatically integrated into the University's main event calendar."
