Harris Intros Facebook-based Alumni Connections

Harris Connect has launched a new alumni and student relations tool built on the Facebook Platform. Dubbed "Community Connections," the application is designed to provide secure connections between schools and their Facebook-using constituents and keep them engaged with news and other information.

Harris described the way the application works this way: "Facebook becomes another entry point to the community, especially for younger alumni. School logos and information appear within the application on the user's Facebook profile page creating a seamless experience. The application also provides a means for authenticated alumni to be alerted if their information between their Facebook profile and their alumni community is out of synch. Alumni can then choose to update this information without leaving their Facebook profile."

Other features include:

  • The ability for users to access information from their Facebook pages;
  • The ability for users to upload resumes; and
  • A one-time login.

Community Connections also includes a tool for updating information directly within the application for providing alumni with information on upcoming events, fundraisers, and the like.

Further information, including a demo, can be found here.
