Smart Brings Down Widescreen Whiteboard Price for Educators

Smart Technologies announced this week that it's dropping the price on its widescreen Smart Board 690 interactive whiteboard for educators. The 690, at 94 inches, is Smart's largest interactive whiteboard.

According to the company, the price of the 690 has been dropped by 10 percent and is available now for the education price of $1,899. The non-educational price is $2,999. The Smart Board 690 is one of two widescreen whiteboards offered by the company. (The recently launched Smart Board 685 is an 87-inch 16:10 model. The 690's aspect ratio is 16:9.) The whiteboard includes Smart's Notebook collaborative learning software suite and a two-year warranty, extendable to five years.

"Educators have expressed their need for wide-format boards, and we have responded to that need with two options," said Smart CEO Nancy Knowlton in a statement released Monday. "The education price reduction of this wide-format board will ensure schools and school districts can choose the interactive whiteboard they need, even when their budgets have to stretch further."
