Salem CC To Enhance Self Service with Unified Digital Campus

Salem Community College in Carneys Point, NJ has selected SunGard Higher Education's PowerCampus Unified Digital Campus (UDC) to replace its existing campus administrative system.

"Students rely on and expect access to Web technologies to access information and interact with their campus community," said Mark Corbalis, director of IT. "With the PowerCampus UDC, we now have the flexibility to align the functionality of a powerful portal with our current Web site to help provide new and improved access to online services and deliver a superior campus experience for our students."

During the evaluation process, he explained, the SunGard solution stood out due to its industry knowledge and its list of successful implementations at peer institutions. "Access to this rich knowledge resource to support our institution in achieving our goals was extremely beneficial and was a key factor in our decision," he said.

The PowerCampus UDC is a Microsoft-based administrative solution that helps small and mid-sized institutions enhance online self-service offerings and improve workflow with admissions, academic records, advancement, billing and cash receipts, financial aid, finance, human resources, and portal tools. Some of the new self services Salem plans to provide through the PowerCampus UDC include online registration, a gradebook, a course manager, a personal calendar and task lists, advising, and academic plans.
