NEC Debuts High-Brightness Education Projectors

NEC Display Solutions has rolled out two high-light-output LCD projectors designed for use in education, the NP 2200 with a brightness of 4,200 ANSI lumens and the NP 1200 with a brightness of 3,700 lumens.

Both of the projectors offer XGA resolution (1,024 x 768) and a 600:1 contrast ratio, with built-in closed captioning support and integrated 5-watt speakers.

The projectors use bayonet-style lenses, which can be switched to accommodate screen sizes from 40inches to 500 inches at distances from 2.8 feet to 304 feet. They also offer an economy mode, which allows them to use 0.4 watts in standby and extend the lamp life up to 3,000 hours.

Other Features include:

  • Five-second start up;
  • BNC (five-port), RGB, and DVI-D inputs ewith multiple audio I/O;
  • RJ-45 network control;
  • Various security features, including Kensington locks ports and password protection; and
  • Virtual Remote, which allows users to control the projector remotely from a computer.

The NP 1200 and the NP 2200 have a street price of $1,999 and $2,399, respectively. Further information is available here.
