Delaware State To Outsource IT Services

Delaware State University has outsourced its IT services to SunGard Higher Education. SunGard HE will manage the IT organization, including providing 24/7 help desk support and other support services. The goal: to improve IT performance and better serve the university's community of users.

The university, which has about 3,600 students and is located in state capital of Dover, will use SunGard HE to establish an IT governance structure and develop a technology plan.

"Technology is an important component in the teaching and learning process, and with SunGard's help, we look forward to improving the learning experience at our university," said Amir Mohammadi, the university's vice president of finance and administration. "We conducted due diligence in selecting who we felt could help us best align our IT with the university's strategic objectives, and we are confident that SunGard will help us leverage the services we provide."

One project SunGard HE will be working on is optimization of Delaware State's SunGard Banner Digital Campus administrative system.

SunGard manages IT services for Delta State University with 4,000 students in Cleveland, MS; and Genesee Community College with about 7,200 students in Batavia, NY.
