UMass Systems Office Looks To Boost Network Security

The University of Massachusetts Systems Office has implemented an application to monitor uptime and security of its network. The Systems Office is setting up SecureVue from eIQnetworks for a number of network functions: configuration management, compliance automation, log management, security information and event management, file integrity monitoring, and performance and availability monitoring. The system tracks the operations of 1,400 network devices and computer systems.

The user organization uses SecureVue for monitoring and alerts on policy violations, non-standard processes, rogue applications, events related to potential financial fraud, identity theft, and cyber-attacks. SecureVue ships with 250 "correlation policy templates" and 1,500 security and compliance reports to expedite setup.
