TopSchool SLM 3.0 To Go Mobile

TopSchool has begun rolling out version 3.0 of its student lifecycle management suite, TopSchool SLM. The latest version will include new mobile apps, along with a modular structure to allow schools to order lifecycle management components a la cart.

TopSchool SLM, delivered as software as a service, is a suite of products that allows potential students to learn about an institution, gives administrators the ability to track those students through the admissions process, and provides data to measure outcomes. TopSchool will be rolling out version 3.0 in stages throughout 2011, rather than all at once. Some features, such as a module for recruitment and marketing, and TopX, which allows schools to use TopSchool as a central hub for the integration of data, became available in January. A placement and career services module will be available with the summer release.

A customizable application and flexible term structures were also rolled out in January.

Additional 3.0 features set to roll out through 2011 include:

  • Mobile apps, the first of which will allow students to access grades, course schedules and account balances;
  • An executive dashboard, which will present data such as conversion rates by lead source, enrolled student profiles, and non-completing student profiles; and
  • Additional modules and dashboards.

"The customizable, online application allows an institution to personalize the admissions process," said Marketing Director Christy Ferguson. "The college or university can include the admissions fields that are most appropriate for their institution on the application. In addition, they are able to provide unique information to applicants on next steps, additional items required, and links to other content after the student has submitted their application. Students can also monitor the status of the application and outstanding items in the online application center at anytime from anywhere."

The flexible term structures allow students to start programs when it's most convenient. Schools are able to change the term structures to suit various needs, including independent study, rolling terms, and standard terms.

TopSchool's pricing is based on institution size "and can cost as little as a few dollars per student per month," said Ferguson.
