Aurora Releases Web-Based AV Controller


Aurora's NXT-1010 controls AV devices through a touch screen and programmed event triggers.

Aurora Multimedia has unveiled a Web-based controller that manipulates AV devices through touch screen inputs and programmed event triggers. The company has also released a button controller with an LCD readout.

The Web-based controller, dubbed the NXT-1010, is a wall-mountable unit that features a 10.1-inch color LCD touch panel with a native resolution of 1,280 x 800, a brightness of 300 cd/m², and a viewing angle of  170 degrees for both horizontal and vertical viewing. The controller is driven by a 900-MIPS WACI engine and includes 128 MB of DDR2 memory.

For manipulating devices through event triggers, the controller uses an online event manager that can activate the controller's relays, send emails, create log files, and interact with devices through IR, Telnet, DIO, UDP, and PJLink. The manager supports concurrent actions, expressions, user-defined constants, user-defined variables, and group names.

Available event triggers include:

  • Clock;
  • Timer;
  • Serial;
  • Variable;
  • Digital;
  • Input/output;
  • Start up;
  • Telnet;
  • IR input; and
  • Network.

Other features of the NXT-1010 include Bluetooth compatibility, an integrated IR learner, an internal audio mixer, 256 MB of flash memory, and power over Ethernet.

Peripheral and control ports include two RS-232, two IR outputs, one IR input, LAN (10Base-T/100Base-TX) with auto MDX and PoE support, a Micro SD card slot, and USB.

Also unveiled by Aurora Multimedia, the LXB-200 AV button controller offers 13 buttons that can be used in conjunction with an LCD readout to manage devices through LAN, RS-232, and IR.

Features of the LXB-200 include:

  • A 32 bit processor;
  • 8 MB DRAM;
  • 8 MB flash memory;
  • Audio playback; and
  • Power over Ethernet.

Ports include one LAN (10Base-T/100Base-TX) with power over Ethernet, three two-way RS-232, two IR, audio line in and out, and two relay.

Aurora Multimedia will demonstrate the Web-based controller and the button controller along with other technologies in booth 2953 at the InfoComm 2011 Conference being held June 11 through June 17 in Orlando, FL.
