Rave Guardian 5.0 Adds Bi-Directional Texting, Enhanced Safety Profiles

Rave Mobile Safety has released an update to Rave Guardian, an emergency response system that provides enhanced data to campus safety and other first responders when emergencies are called in.

Rave Guardian is a communications tool designed specifically to provide first responders with additional details about a student or faculty member who calls in an emergency, providing a picture of the user, mobile number, GPS location, and other personal details--health and rescue information, class schedule, address, and other information. It also provides one-button connections to public safety and can be used as a sort of "virtual escort" to help ensure that students make it to where they're going within a specified timeframe.

The new version, Rave Guardian 5.0, includes enhancements to text messaging capabilities and profile data. New features include:

  • Ability to initiate a two-way SMS text conversation with a Guardian user, designed for situations in which it may be unsafe or impractical for the caller to speak;
  • Broader safety profile support for subscribers; and
  • Integration of Rave Guardian into existing on-premise PBX systems, allowing it to be integrated directly into PBX systems supporting telephone API (TAPI) or computer-supported telecommunication application (CSTA) integration. This enables the software to monitor an existing public safety phone line, enabling the display of caller-profile information for any recognized caller who directly dials into an institution's security line.

Rave Guardian 5 is available now. Additional details can be found on Rave's site.
