Adobe Offers Elements 10 Bundle

Adobe is now bundling Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10, the most-recent versions of its photo-editing and video-editing software, for users of both Windows and Mac OS X.

The latest release of Photoshop Elements is powered by the same engine as Adobe Photoshop, the more powerful professional version, and new features allow for more professional-looking edits and adjustments.

Features of the new release include:

  • New guided edits that offer step-by-step help;
  • The ability to curve text to follow the edge of a photo or other object;
  • Enhanced interaction with social media, such as the ability to tag photos for Facebook friends; and
  • Thirty new effects.

Premiere Elements 10 also boasts new features including enhanced performance for 64-bit Windows 7.

Other new features include:

  • One-click tools and professional corrections;
  • InstantMovie themes to provide step-by-step help;
  • Improvements to pan and zoom; and
  • Easy uploading of videos to both Facebook and YouTube.

File management across programs is available through the new organizer. Duplicate photos can be identified and deleted, and searching by category, such as all pet photos or all school photos, is also available.

"The Photoshop Elements 10 & Adobe Premiere Elements 10 bundle brings together all the functionality people need to easily create, perfect, and share both photo and video memories," said Winston Hendrickson, vice president of Digital Imaging Products, Adobe. "The new features expand the creative possibilities with photos and videos. And now, more than ever, people who capture photos are experimenting with video, so we’re offering new tools and technology that bring video editing to photographers in a way that is natural and easy for them."

Both programs are aimed at the consumer market, rather than at professionals, which is designed to allow for lower pricing while retaining many of the options.

The bundle is available for $149.99 with an upgrade available to previous users for $119.99. Elements Plus, a premium subscription package, offers 20GB of storage for automatic online backup and sharing as well as an online library and is available in the U.S. for $49.99 per year.

Students and educators are being offered an educational discount and volume licensing.
