Oracle Introduces Oracle Public Cloud

Oracle has announced Oracle Public Cloud, a set of integrated services that provide access to Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and Oracle Database, all of which are managed, hosted, and supported by Oracle, with a unified self-service interface for provisioning, monitoring, and managing all services.

Oracle Public Cloud technologies are portable and built on open standards, so organizations with existing Java and Oracle Database applications will be able to migrate them to the Oracle Public Cloud without rewriting them and have the option of moving their applications back in house or to another public cloud at a later time.

Oracle Public Cloud Platform Services include:

Oracle Public Cloud services also include resource management and isolation, security, data exchange and integration, virus scanning, white list management, and centralized self-service monitoring. It will also provide triple mirrored storage backup and offsite tape backup of all systems.

The key difference is the Oracle Public Cloud is based on industry standards and supports full interoperability with other clouds and your datacenter on premise."

Oracle Fusion CRM Cloud Service and Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud Service are available now. The other Oracle Public Cloud services will be offered under controlled availability in the near future. Oracle Public Cloud pricing will be based on a monthly subscription model, and separate subscriptions will be available for each of the Oracle Public Cloud services.
