BMC’s Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector Cloud Service Provides Regulatory Compliance

BMC Software has released Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector, a cloud-based IT service management (ITSM) solution. Remedy OnDemand provides service desk, self-service, change management, asset management, dashboards, and analytics tools. It also supports integration with third-party applications and custom workflow configurations.

Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector meets the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) minimum security requirements for government organizations. It provides low and moderate level security controls implemented according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53, Revision 3 (Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations) for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). BMC also expects Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector to be the first ITSM SaaS solution to receive the United States Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program's (FedRAMP) provisional authorization once FedRAMP becomes fully operational later this year.

Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector cloud service is hosted by Dell. "Dell has a longstanding history of supporting the public sector with solutions that help governments and education entities meet increasing data and IT demands, often under the pressure of shrinking budgets," said Mark Horan, VP of global education and state and local government, Dell. "By hosting and jointly selling BMC's Remedy OnDemand we're able to continue to help the public sector advance its technology infrastructure and provide critical end-to-end IT solutions."
