LG Electronics Unveils New Outdoor Display

LG Electronics USA is promoting its high-brightness “Shine Out” display technology at InfoComm 2012, specifically in its new 47WX50MF display. The display is intended specifically for outdoor spaces or areas with high ambient light, such as lobbies and sports facilities.

Measuring 47 inches diagonally and ENERGY STAR 5.1 rated, the 47WX50MF features in-plane switching (IPS) panel technology that helps ensure accurate color saturation and contrast even at wide angles. This gives institutions the latitude to install the display at virtually any angle or height without compromising picture quality. The display can also take the heat, with a temperature tolerance of up to 230° Fahrenheit (110° Celsius), which helps alleviate the common problem of screens overheating.

To improve viewing quality even in harsh lighting conditions, the 47WX50MF features LG’s Shine Out technology, which is designed to deflect ambient light, a feature that helps prevent colors from washing out or images looking flat. Together with a display brightness of 2,000 nits, Shine Out creates a picture that is highly visible even in abundant natural light. Building on this technology, the LCD display utilizes full LED backlighting, creating full HD 1080p picture quality. In addition, the 47WX50MF’s open frame allows for customization and easy installation.

Completing this signage solution is the 47WX50MF’s built-in media player. With SuperSign Elite-w Lite, the company's proprietary web-based management platform, users can create and run dynamic content utilizing preloaded templates. A menu-based navigation system makes it easy to control networked displays and run media files, such as video, images, audio, and flash.
