Crestron Debuts AV System for Video Conference Rooms

Crestron has launched its newest all-in-one AV presentation solution for video conference rooms, the DigitalMedia Presentation System 300 with Acoustic Echo Cancellation.

The DMPS-300-C-AEC comes with acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) on each of its six mic inputs and can connect directly to up to two audio or video codecs, according to a statement from the company. The dual codec support enables both codecs to be used at the same time, plus the signal from one codec can be fed to the other codec. The rackmountable system also includes a "control processor, multimedia matrix switcher, mic mixer, audio DSP, and amplifier."

"The addition of Acoustic Echo Cancellation to the DMPS makes integration of videoconferencing systems even easier by providing native control of all signal routing and audio processing functions," said Fred Bargetzi, vice president of technology at Crestron, in the prepared statement. "This eliminates complex interconnections and programming of third party DSP's while providing clean, high quality audio for teleconferencing applications."

Crestron is offering four versions of the new system. The DMPS-100-C, with 4x1 matrix switching, is designed for small venues with single displays. The DMPS-200-C, a 6x2 matrix switching system, supports dual projector applications. The DMPS-300-C, with 7x4 matrix switching, is suited to large environments with multiple displays. The DMPS-300-C-AEC, designed for video conference rooms, is the only model featuring AEC technology.

Additional information about Crestron's DMPS line can be found at the company's Web site.
