A company that provides survey tools for higher education researchers has launched a mobile edition of its products. Qualtrics' Qualtrics Mobile delivers the company's Research Suite for use on smart phones and tablets to enable potential respondents to respond to surveys on the go.

Features include:

  • Pre-built templates that "adapt" to the respondent's platform, whether it turns out to be a desktop or laptop computer, a tablet, or a smart phone;
  • A "mobile compatibility advisor" that verifies that newly created or existing surveys are optimized for mobile use;
  • "Device detection" to modify surveys by automatically displaying or hiding questions and adjusting the survey flow based on the platform being used by the respondent; and
  • Offline functionality that allows users to take surveys even when an Internet connection isn't available.

Qualtrics Offline Surveys is available as a native mobile app for Apple iOS devices and Google Android devices.

Qualtrics survey software has been used by researchers at Auburn University, Baylor University, and Washington State University, among many others.
