Aerohive Announces Mobility Suite for Managing Mobile Devices

Aerohive has introduced a new cloud-enabled mobility management product designed to simplify enterprise networking and extend visibility and control over connected mobile devices. The new Aerohive Mobility Suite manages a variety of mobile device needs, from transient guests requiring basic Internet access, to company-issued devices with tightly-controlled applications and content.

The Mobility Suite includes three main components:

ID Manager
Aerohive's ID Manager provides self-service portals and kiosk-based guest registration as well as delivery of access credentials via SMS, e-mail, and even Twitter direct messaging. For management of devices in a BYOD environment, an Employee Sponsorship functionality allows employees to register for guest credentials to connect their personal devices to the guest network.

Client Management
The Client Management application allows IT administrators to onboard and provision institution-issued and employee-owned devices with unique client credentials. Device-level configuration profiles can be combined with device ownership to create personalized policies and controls. Client information is displayed in Aerohive's HiveManager for monitoring and reporting. The integration of Client Management with the context-based policy enforcement of Aerohive's network infrastructure means IT administrators are able to create mobile policies that utilize both network- and device-based information.

Integration With Software Partners
Aerohive Mobility Suite's partnerships with mobile device management (MDM) vendors AirWatch and JAMF Software facilitate enrollment and enforcing the continued installation of MDM agent software. In particular, the Aerohive-AirWatch integration allows Aerohive devices to query AirWatch management for enrollment and compliance status. When a connected device is determined to be out of compliance, the Aerohive devices can quarantine the out-of-compliance client device on the network as well as send a message to the user to remediate the device before they are granted full access to the network.
