NEC Unveils Mobile LED Projector

NEC has added a new LED projector to its suite of mobile projector offerings for education.

The new model is the L102W, a 3.1-pound, 1,000-lumen LED projector. The unit offers a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels (WXGA) and a contrast ration of 10,000:1. The projector features a lampless, mercury-free design with an integrated power supply and streamlined interface.

Additional features of the L102W include:

  • 3D support, via DLP Link technology;
  • Filter-free design;
  • HDMI, VGA and composite video inputs;
  • Optional wireless LAN;
  • 2-watt speaker;
  • Wall color correction presets, for displaying on non-white surfaces;
  • Closed captioning;
  • Kensington lock slot;
  • 10-step magnification with location control; and,
  • Up to 20,000 hours of light source light.

The model includes 1GB of internal memory and SD input support, which can increase internal storage up to 32GB. Video files supported include MJPEG (AVI), MPEG2, H.264 (AVI, MOV, MP4, 3GP) and WMV. Still image formats supported include JPEG and BMP. Audio files supported include MP3, WMA and Wave. Document file formats supported include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe PDF.

NEC's new projector begins shipping this month and is available for $799. The unit comes with a two-year limited warranty, for parts and labor. Extended warranties are available for education customers.
