Elmo Unveils New Point-to-Multipoint Content Delivery System

Elmo USA, a developer of imaging products for schools, has unveiled its new point-to-multipoint content delivery system, Elmo P2MP, at the InfoComm 2014 show taking place in Las Vegas, NV from June 18 to 21.

The Elmo P2MP is designed for use in classrooms and meeting rooms. It connects through a hub to an Internet-connected host computer, and it can distribute content wirelessly from the host computer to up to 40 devices in the room. Those receiving devices can be Macs, PCs running Windows 7 or 8, Chromebooks, or smartphones or tablets running iOS or Android. In order to receive the distributed content, the devices must run the P2MP app to connect to the Elmo P2MP's private, secure network. Once connected, they can receive any content from the host computer, including content from external devices or sources connected to the host computer, such as document cameras or Internet content.

According to the company, "the ELMO P2MP gives educators and presenters complete control of the content displayed on attendee's devices." Devices connected to the Elmo P2MP's private network can't view other content unless they leave the private network, and the host computer is notified when a device leaves that network.
