Elsevier is releasing a slate of new ebooks to its Legacy collection on ScienceDirect in five new areas, including arts and STEM, as well as new materials in a variety of existing categories.

drucker managing for resultsScienceDirect offers full-text journal articles and books online, although subscriptions may be required. Works are searchable by keyword and some references include links.

New subject areas for Elsevier’s offerings include arts and humanities; computer science; economics, econometrics and finance; immunology and microbiology; and mathematics. Newly digitized books in the engineering and the biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology collections are also being made available.

The Legacy collection focuses on making classic science books available for purchase. Many of the books are authored by luminaries or important researchers in their respective fields, such as business management thinker Peter Drucker (Managing for Results, pictured), and Nobel Laureates such as Lev Davidovich Landau, George Olah, Peter Diamond, and Sir Frank McFarlane Burnet.

The collection now includes around 13,000 works. Before being digitized, many of the included books were out-of-print or difficult to find.
