ProQuest Adds Indexing by Google Scholar

All scholarly resources from ProQuest, including journal articles and working papers, is now indexed by Google Scholar in an effort to improve efficiency and ease of use.

The integration, which requires no setup from libraries, "enables authenticated ProQuest users to be recognized at the ProQuest platform after they search using Google Scholar and connects them to full-text scholarly content in their libraries' collections," according to a news release. Users who have not already been authenticated are directed to a landing page with an abstract or image where they can sign in using library credentials.

"ProQuest aims to continually empower researchers to be more productive and successful," said Kurt Sanford, ProQuest CEO, in a prepared statement. "That means removing obstacles between them and the content that helps them achieve their research goal. This collaboration is an important step in streamlining the workflow of these researchers."
