Ellucian Updates Banner Finance, Unveils Ethos Platform

The company unveiled several new updates to its higher education software services.

At the Ellucian Live conference, Ellucian announced new updates to its higher education software, including platforms that support campus modernization and innovation, improve client support and manage finances.

The company unveiled Ellucian Ethos, a cloud-enabled, integrated portfolio of software services for higher education. The platform functions as a “smart hub” that analyzes patterns and passes them on to the entire community, according to information from the company. Using the Ellucian Ethos Data Model and Ellucian Ethos Integration to interpret data, the platform can assist institutions in decision-making and drive student success.

Additionally, the Ellucian Customer Success Program added three new investments to help clients with technical and product support needed to stay current on product releases. The updates include:

  • A constituent relationship management solution that offers customers a personal value card that boosts visibility into their Ellucian solutions;

  • An online discussion forum called eCommunities; and

  • A feature to search answer to questions about product releases and updates called eSearch.

Ellucian also rebranded its partner program as the Partner Success Program, which now has an inclusive network of 110 authorized companies around the world in the global higher education market. The program has two new services that offer more resources and cloud delivery channels for users.

Finally, Ellucian released a new version of Banner Finance, a higher education financial management system used by more than 900 colleges and universities around the world. Banner Finance 9.0 uses Ellucian XE (Extensible Ecosystem) to “allow institutions to extend, configure and add technologies as campus needs evolve,” according to a news release. Updates to the Banner Finance 9.0 include:

  • Intuitive navigation and access to data;

  • Ability to promote an institution’s brand;

  • Global accessibility; and

  • A path to the cloud.

Ellucian Ethos will be integrated into all product releases this fall. Further information about the Ellucian Partner Success Program is available on the Ellucian Partners site. For information about Banner Finance 9.0, visit the Ellucian XE site.
