Jenzabar and Rafter Partner on Course Content Distribution

Two education technology companies are banding together to simplify the process of curriculum distribution in higher education. Jenzabar and Rafter have introduced a plug-in that handles integration between the two companies' software.

Rafter360 allows faculty to designate their choice of content in either print or digital form; then the service connects to student registration data to forecast and plan procurement, negotiating with textbook and e-text publishers on pricing and subsequently handling distribution of books and other materials to students for pickup, direct shipping or loading into the course system. The benefit to this approach, the company stated, is that schools can include curriculum as part of the student bill and ensure that students have access to course materials from the first day of class.

Those institutions that use student information systems, learning management systems and campus portal applications from Jenzabar will be able to integrate with the Rafter360 course materials management services.

"We are excited to be partnering with Jenzabar as we share a focus on institutional and student success," said Rafter CEO, Sara Leoni, in a prepared statement. "Jenzabar brings a collaborative approach along with a strong and engaged client community that will help ensure the success of this partnership."

Jenzabar claims 1,300 campuses in its customer list. Among those institutions that use Rafter 360 are Illinois College, Mars Hill University in North Carolina and Schreiner University in Texas.
