Columbus State U to Deploy Service Management Platform

Columbus State University in Georgia has selected a new online service management platform to provide its faculty and staff with desktop and mobile access to services.

Following an intensive evaluation process, the university selected EasyVista service management platform based on its "ease of use and service management administration, rapid time to deployment and its service app capabilities," according to a news release. Once the implementation is complete, faculty and staff will be able to use the platform to access services such as IT support and repairs, transportation services, campus services, printing and mailing services and plant operations from their computer desktop or mobile device.

"We expect this platform to be easy to use for faculty and staff on campus so we can continue to provide excellent customer service for the various units on campus that will be using EasyVista, resulting in a much quicker response time and a higher level of end user satisfaction," said Abraham George, vice president and CIO of Columbus State University, in a prepared statement.

According to information on the company's site, EasyVista lets organizations automate service creation and management, build their own services using drag-and-drop technology and implement user-designed reports and dashboards based on predefined roles. They can also use it to manage authorized cloud services within a single service catalog based on the organization's policies and procedures.

Columbus State University is part of the University System of Georgia and serves 8,400 students in more than 100 programs in arts, business, education, nursing and the sciences.
