U St Thomas to Launch Online STEM Engineering Ed Certificates

The University of St Thomas will begin offering graduate certificates in STEM engineering education online this year.

The certificate is designed for teachers with students in grades preK-12 seeking hands-on experience in STEM education. Taught by faculty from the university's school of engineering, the certificate focuses on how to apply the material in the classroom.

To earn the certificate, students must complete four three-credit courses, which include Fundamentals of Engineering, Engineering Design, Engineering in the P-12 Classroom and an engineering elective. The courses are offered in a variety of formats, including summer courses, weekend classes and, beginning in the spring, online.
