University of Maine Launches Interactive Map with Virtual Campus Tour

University of Maine interactive campus map

A new interactive map on the University of Maine website allows users to explore the campus from afar. Built on the Concept3D platform, the mobile-friendly map provides a satellite view melded with 3D models of campus facilities, as well as 360-degree panoramic images of key locations. It covers a wide range of campus information, including educational facilities, student housing, resources, gardens, parking, points of interest, research laboratories, athletics, health and safety, Greek life and more.

Concept3D's content management system allows departments, staff and students to manage map information with various levels of access. Map layers can be toggled on or off or scheduled to appear for particular events or closures. For instance, a layer for fresman move-in day can highlight information kiosks, residence halls, short- and long-term parking areas, recycle bins for cardboard boxes, places to eat, as well as fun things for parents to do on and off campus, the company explained in a news announcement.

The University of Maine map is available for anyone to explore at go.umaine.edu/virtual-map.
