McGraw-Hill Ed and Follett Deals Chase More Affordable Curriculum Options

McGraw-Hill Education and Follett have concocted two new agreements. In the first, Follett's current rental offering will cover McGraw-Hill's new textbook rental program for copyright 2019 titles; in the second, McGraw-Hill's digital learning products and e-books will be incorporated into Follett's includED "inclusive access" program, which gives students access to their course materials on the first day of class.
Follett reported that it would offer more than 200 McGraw-Hill copyright 2019 titles for rent in printed or digital editions through its 1,800 virtual stores and 1,200 college stores. McGraw-Hill has signed similar agreements with several other channel partners already this year.
Under the inclusive access agreement, Follett will be able to deliver required course materials and supplies to students as part of their tuition or fees. McGraw-Hill said it already provides the same kind of arrangements at 500 campuses across the country.
The new deals agreements mark the continuing growth of McGraw-Hill's efforts to offer more affordable options for students over traditional textbooks, including digital learning solutions, e-books, loose leaf, mobile applications and even open educational resources for specific titles.
