Epson has unveiled two new ultra-short-throw models in its BrightLink line of projectors, both using a “virtually maintenance-free” laser light source.

The new models, the the BrightLink 1485Fi and the BrightLink 1480Fi, offer 1080p resolution on screen and a brightness of 5,000 lumens for both color and white. Image size can be up to 100 inches (diagonal) in 16:9 mode or up to 120 inches in ultrawide 16:6 mode.

Other features include:

  • Interactive capabilities using touch or pens;

  • Automatic calibration for interactivity;

  • PC-free whiteboarding capabilities, including drawing, printing, saving and emailing; and

  • Versatile surface options, allowing most flat surfaces to be used for interactive presentations.

Both new models include a one-year subscription to SMART Learning Suite.

The 1485Fi is designed for new BrightLink users and requires the new BrightLink mount. The 1480Fi is designed to be used with existing BrightLink mounts. Both include a three-year warranty with next business day replacement.

The new models are expected to ship in October. For more information, go to Epson’s BrightLink for Education portal.
