University of San Francisco Moves Student Data to the Cloud

The University of San Francisco is in the process of moving its student information system to the Ellucian Banner cloud. Its goal: to provide an expanded set of functions to students while increasing SIS security and disaster recovery tools.

The move gives USF more opportunities to act fast on the most current application features from Ellucian. Expenses for backend infrastructure recovery at USF will also be reduced, while bringing more data scalability and security.

"Ellucian's focus on higher education and record of successful Banner cloud implementations weighed heavily into our decision. We look forward to working with Ellucian to help keep student data secure and accessible," said USF CIO Opinder Bawa.

Ellucian provides software and services to more than 2,500 institutions in over 50 countries focused on SIS, finance and human resources, recruitment, retention and advancement.
