New Firm Provides Peer Review and Cost Estimation Services for AV System Designs

A new AV company is aiming to improve the quality control process for audiovisual system design. AV Checkpoint offers peer review and cost estimation services intended to help in-house AV teams, architects, engineers and construction professionals vet their planned AV projects.

With AV Checkpoint's peer review service, institutions can have their AV system designs checked by a network of AV industry experts who will address any design oversights, compliance with industry standards and best practices, and ADA requirements, as well as compliance with CAD drawing and specification formatting standards. The service also reviews for constructability — making sure design documentation is bid- and construction-ready.

The cost estimation service provides an overview of AV system costs, starting in the conceptual phase and updating as the system design develops. It then establishes a benchmark for analyzing contractor bids.
