TouchNet Launches Mobile Ordering App

Campus commerce vendor TouchNet has introduced TouchNet OrderAhead, a mobile ordering application that integrates with the company's OneCard credential solution or can be added to a university's own mobile app.

With TouchNet OrderAhead, students can order or schedule food and other campus services from their mobile device. The app can manage a variety of campus reservations, such as: gym time, campus ID pickup, dorm move-ins, books and courseware pickup, financial services, academic adviser appointments and more, according to a news announcement. It also enables assorted payment options, such as credit and debit card payments, meal plan deductions, or mobile wallet.

The app can be customized with university branding (logos, colors, images, etc.), and an optional loyalty component allows schools to offer students points and incentives for particular actions or behaviors.

"Students are used to order-ahead experiences. They actually prefer them," noted Ryan Audus, director of product strategy for TouchNet, in a statement. "With the need to control crowd size and maintain social distancing so important now, OrderAhead provides a great way to meet both student expectations and keep them safe. With OrderAhead, there's practically no learning curve for students and it's easy to implement too, so schools can quickly get a solution up and running that noticeably improves experiences and safety campuswide."
