University of Pittsburgh Moves HR Processes to the Cloud

HR network and interactions concept

The University of Pittsburgh is replacing its on-premise human resources system and paper-based processes with a move to Oracle's Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management solution. The implementation is designed to improve access to HR information, boost HR efficiency and transparency, strengthen connections among university employees and create a more sustainable workplace, according to a news announcement.

In addition to providing a better employee experience for staff, faculty and students, the Oracle Cloud HCM system will offer the university improved employee visibility and analytics about the institutional workforce, the announcement said. By logging on to the online HR portal, for example, administrators can view the approval status of HR requests, identify delays and resolve issues.

"Our leadership sees HR as a strategic imperative and is always pushing us to improve. On-premises systems aren't built to be updated at a pace that keeps up with innovation, but with Oracle Cloud we can stay ahead of the curve," said Michelle Fullem, acting assistant vice chancellor for HR operations at the university, in a statement. "Oracle Cloud HCM allows us to have immediate access to new updates as soon as they are available and helps improve accuracy and efficiency in HR processes through an intuitive user experience."
