Lindenwood Connects Admissions, Planning to Web-Based System

Lindenwood University in Missouri has partnered with ed tech provider ConnectEdu to deploy Connect!, an online portal system designed for education. The university will use Connect! to help Missouri students and parents prepare for college and to begin accepting electronic applications.

Connect! is designed as a centralized platform that allows K-12 and higher education institutions to communicate admissions-related processes through secure Web-based technology.

"Lindenwood University is pleased to become one of the first universities in the state to partner with ConnectEdu," said James Evans, president of Lindenwood University. "After evaluating all the options available to us, we chose Connect!, not only because it is one of the most efficient and cost-effective solutions, but because ConnectEdu shares our mission to help students. Like ConnectEdu, we encourage all young people to pursue higher education, and by providing Connect! to all high schools in Missouri, we hope to facilitate opportunities for a new generation of college-bound students."

With the new system, Lindenwood will be able to accept electronic transcripts through XML data exchange, as well as letters of recommendation and other application materials. It will also be integrating Connect!'s electronic recruitment tools, linking with users around the country.

The service is free to use for students, parents, and guidance counsellors.
