American U To Offer Online MBA Degrees

American University's Kogod School of Business will launch its first online MBA programs this fall.

In conjunction with online graduate education program provider 2U, the Washington, DC-based business school is expected to create two new online graduate degree programs that should be available by October.

The master of business administration degree, also known as MBA@American, will offer concentrations in marketing, finance, international business, IT analytics and consulting and entrepreneurship, requiring 48 credits for completion. A master of science degree in analytics, Analytics@American, will offer concentrations in business policy, health care and financial and marketing analytics, requiring 33 completed credits.

Each degree will also require students to complete two in-person immersive courses on American University's campus and at other major business centers around the world.

"We consider relationship-building and an interactive learning environment to be key factors for student success in a business program, Kogod School of Business Dean Erran Carmel said. "So we are excited to now offer two new online offerings for students looking to excel in today's competitive business environment."

2U already assists American University with one other online graduate degree program, a master of arts in international relations.

"The curriculum and range of concentrations offered online by Kogod will provide a perfect complement to its existing online campus programs," said 2U CEO Chip Paucek.
