Adobe Creative Suite 3Comprehensive Creative Tools

Adobe Systems has announced the Adobe Creative Suite 3 product line, integrating Adobe and Macromedia products to provide a broad spectrum of creative options for print, web, mobile, interactive, film, and video production. Customers can choose from six different product suites (such as the Design Premium and Web Premium editions) or full-version upgrades of 13 standalone applications (such as Photoshop CS3); all feature new workflows that streamline collaboration and rich content development, to help users engage audiences across multiple media. Avocent's Emerge MPX1000 HD Multipoint ExtenderWireless HD Media Delivery

Audiovisual connectivity and control solutions provider Avocent is shipping the Emerge MPX1000 HD Multipoint Extender, a high-definition media extender incorporating high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) technology for moving HD content from one source to multiple destinations, in digital signage applications. The product extends video and audio over standard 10/100 Ethernet wiring up to 3,000 feet, and wirelessly through walls up to 150 feet (or up to 1,000 feet lineof- sight with optional directional antenna). Audio-video synchronization is maintained at each display, and all wirelessly connected receivers remain in lockstep with each other. MSRP: $1,095 for the MPX1000T transmitter, $995 for the MPX1000R receiver, and $195 each for HDMI transmitter and receiver modules.

Secure payment and smart card vendor SmartCentric Technologies has released SmartCity 6, a web-based, multiapplication contactless (RFID) smart card system with online/offline capabilities. By simply tapping a card on a reader, a cardholder can purchase goods, gain access to secure areas, and control access to PCs and networks. Key features include centralized processing and security, which help reduce costs for card issuing; improved transaction processing; and better administration and reporting tools.
