DeadlineDue.com Generates Free Harvard Reference Citations

Newly launched DeadlineDue.com, created by Rad Inks, automatically generates Harvard References for research papers. The Harvard Referencing System, also known as the author-date system, is a citation system used primarily in the sciences and by scholarly and professional organizations. The system ensures that students, teachers, and researchers credit the proper source when using the words and ideas of others in reports, essays, and research papers.

"Students, teachers and researchers rely on technology to help make everyday academic tasks simpler and easier," said Raditha Dissanayake, chief software architect for the company, which develops applets. "We developed DeadlineDue.com to help students and academic professionals generate citations easily and quickly, without having to worry about formatting and accuracy."

The service, which is still in beta and which the company said will be free, allows the user to enter a book title or ISBN number. The Web site returns the author, publishing date, title, publisher, and other information formatted according to Harvard Referencing standards, which can then be copied and pasted into the report. In the event that a title is entered and there is more than one edition, the program will deliver results for all editions. Book data is provided by ISBNdb.com, a database of books from hundreds of libraries across the world.
