U Maine Moves to Sustainability Governance

The University of Maine in Orono will be using a governance model from 4tell Solutions to track sustainability efforts. The company sells a number of reporting systems that draw data from multiple sources to provide a dashboard view of performance in specific areas. The university will be using iPlan Sustainable Performance Governance.

Through the application, the institution said, it hopes to improve its ability to keep environmental commitments and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and to keep stakeholders informed.

"We are extremely excited about our partnership with 4tell," said Elaine Clark, executive director of Facilities, Real Estate, and Planning. "The university will benefit from a sustainability platform that creates full visibility into our long-term needs and a framework to develop and implement our capital, energy, and security strategies as they relate to our strategic plan."
